What a weekend!

I spent time this weekend meeting neighbors right where they're at. I was out canvassing yesterday, and I attended the Oak Hills Neighborhood Night Out too. There were so many great conversations, and it's always a good reminder of how much stronger our community is when we take the time to really talk with one another.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to chat, shared what's on your mind, or just said hello. These moments matter!

Today marks 25 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001.

We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, & the countless acts of courage, compassion, & service that followed.

We also remember the families who have carried that loss for 25 years.

Today, we honor them and hold their memories close. We will never forget!

Today, we celebrate the working people who keep Washington County moving and the generations of union members who fought for better wages, safer workplaces, and stronger communities.

I’m incredibly proud to have the support of the Northwest Oregon Labor Council, along with frontline unions representing our first responders and building trades.

I’ve always believed that business and labor are strongest when they work together. As Washington County Chair, I’ll continue to be a partner to working people and fight for good-paying jobs that allow families to build a good life right here in Washington County.

I had the opportunity to tour the General Sheet Metal facility recently to see firsthand the intricate craftsmanship they put into their work. General Sheet Metal started in 1932. It developed into a woman minority business and now is an employee owned business.

Carol Duncan, the CEO, is a strong leader. She also just happens to be one of my former students from when I taught high school. It's rewarding to see her and the business thriving.

As an elected leader, connecting with people and their businesses is a priority in making sure our region has good-paying jobs. Strengthening our local economy takes partnership, investment, and leaders who care about their community.

We're stepping into September with campaign literature in hand, ready to knock on doors, and talk with voters!

The one thing I enjoy most about being an elected leader and running for office is meeting voters where they're at and hearing what's top of mind for them.

November's election is a little more than eight weeks away. Let's go! 📣

Thank you to everyone who came out to my listening session in Sherwood last night! 🙌 The conversation just flowed. We covered affordability, housing, jobs, the economy, data centers, and public safety.
