Happy Holidays!
We were so happy to have Malinda Liberty join us at Affinity to help spread the holiday cheer and sing her song "The Maine Christmas Song"! Our music class had been practicing it as well as other holiday tunes that we were able to sing for everyone :)

Congratulations to one of Maine's Direct Support Professionals of the year ✨ Christie Sims-Yencha! ✨
Christie has been selected to receive a MACSP Direct Support Professional Award! This recognition is being given to 15 DSP's across Maine and it was a competitive selection process and Affinity is so proud to share that Christie is one of those selected! Christie has led a diverse array of activities during her 15.5 years with Affinity, including but not limited to painting, drawing, gardening, crafts, knitting, and community art classes. She creates a nurturing learning environment that promotes independence, creativity, and self-expression. Join us in celebrating her and all she does for our consumers!
“She’s amazing! She has a lot of patience with me and with others. She works with so many of us and I don’t know how she does it. It was a lot of fun doing art class over zoom with her during the pandemic and learning a new way to do art. It was stressful at first, but she helped us learn a lot and showed us that we could do it on our own.” -S
“She helps me with drawing, lets me be creative and do my own projects like pencil shading and painting”- D
“I like following along in art class and paying attention, hanging out, having fun, and having a great day. Christie helps me out making jack-o-lanterns and teaches me how to do things all by myself. I like doing after program art with Christie, she helps me follow directions and helps me talk to friends. She helps me get to know people”- C
“She is very helpful and very patient with me. Even though she is busy she gives me attention and helps me in art. I want her to know that she is very kind, and she helps me pick my own projects, like my cat project I’m working on this week”- H
