Thanks to everyone who came out to the shop sale this weekend! It was nice to meet so many glass artists.
And it was a great success!
I still have some full sheets of Bullseye, Youghigheny stipple, and Uroboros ripple left.
Message me if you would like to see them.

Downtown Hillsboro is hopping these days. I had the pleasure of working with Skywater Fine Wines to transform 3 unoccupied tenant spaces into one big new wine shop extravaganza. The new shop includes a tasting area, a classroom area, a lounge and a member's cellar. Keep a watch for the Skywater empire. : ) They are doing great things!

I recently went to visit a house that I designed a remodel on back in 2010. The original house was only one story. We added a second floor, reconfigured the main level spaces, and added an addition onto the main level. It's in a gorgeous location right on the river! Now we are working on designing a covered patio for the back...

This was/is a fun collaboration with Arcalus Period Design. This project includes a new basement with a basement ADU and an addition that houses the kitchen with a dining nook. Here are some pics of the kitchen and of the exterior that is nearly complete.

It's starting to look like a theater! It's been a long road to get this far...lot's of starts and stops. And COVID doesn't help. But look for Dekum Street Theater soon (pandemic be gone!). It's located at the Dekum Triangle, though hidden now behind a false wall at the street to protect it during construction. It's wonderful to see what was a shell of a building take shape.

Picture Day... It was such a pleasure to design a kitchen for this super cool mid-century house. At some point in its life, it had a remodel that made the kitchen very dark. We got to change that! And it had an original Louis Poulson ph-5 pendant that we got to save! Thank you to Kinnell Steelworks for the gorgeous work and to Solas general contractors for executing the whole thing.

An update on a project in the works:
Some projects fly along and some seem to crawl. So much has happened to this house in the year since I posted last... most of which doesn't show in pictures. This project is definitely on the slow and steady track. The big picture is that we added a basement ADU, and renovated the kitchen. The infrastructure (electrical, HVAC, plumbing) has been updated. Currently, the kitchen is being finished. The owner is an architectural historian. (Check out arcalus.com and bollingco.com) Every detail is meticulously designed and executed. It has been so much fun to work with them on this project. Oh, and yes, the siding will be replaced/restored.
That is also in the works now. I'll post more about that as it progresses...

Mid-century meets traditional Japanese timber frame. This roof extension was built with Alaskan yellow cedar. No metal fasteners here, just complex joints and pegs. This is a new covered entrance to a basement unit ADU. Thank you to David Laws and Randy Kinneman for the exquisite joinery and gorgeous ex*****on of this design.
