I've been active on Reddit for more than a decade: its audience is one I can't reach otherwise online. Added bonus is that AI search engines increasingly pull answers from Reddit, & I want those results pointing at MY work.
But unscrupulous companies know this too:
Companies Are Using Reddit to Manipulate ChatGPT and Google AI Search Peptide companies have been doing AI-engine optimization by spamming the biohackers subreddit to manipulate ChatGPT and Google.

I wrote a blog back in September 2025 about how this war on empathy will affect the work of nonprofits and campaigns that encourage volunteerism. The reality is that its going to affect the work of any nonprofit focused on social inequities, including hunger, housing, and more, as well as any nonprofit focused on helping women in any way other than having babies. I'll link to my blog in the comments.
In 2019, the year before the Black Lives Matter protests in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a local Christian nationalist seminary professor named Joe Rigney began a campaign to popularize a concept he referred to as the "sin of empathy."

A dear friend is in this photo. He's standing in the back, under the very first star on the far left of the set of five stars on the viewer's right. I'm so freakin' proud of him - getting into the Peace Corps is NOT easy and most applicants don't make the cut. And he's in Kosovo - I love Eastern Europe beyond measure, and I know that they are going to love him and he's going to love the people there. He's just a few years younger than me, and I'm 60 - I think the Peace Corps is going to be such a perfect match for his personality, his skills and where he is in life.
A milestone moment for Peace Corps Kosovo as the KOS 11 Volunteers were officially sworn in on May 14 in Prishtina.
The swearing‑in of the KOS 11 cohort marks not just a ceremony, but the beginning of a mission grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and hope.
Wishing them a meaningful and impactful journey ahead.
