Big thanks to BikePortland.org for this great write up on the closing of our cafe.
Rivelo, Breadwinner Cafe, and Norther Cycles are all closing - BikePortland.org Portland’s local bike culture and retail landscape has taken a few more hits. The last decade has brought with it a sea change in Portland bicycle culture. The new decade looks to continue the trend as three beloved small businesses have decided to call it quits: Rivelo, Breadwinner Cafe, and Nort...

We're going to miss this view.
We have made the difficult decision to close the Breadwinner Cafe so we can focus on building bikes and wheels.
Please join us one last time - our final day is Sunday and we want to go out in style :)
We'd love to see you.

Dear Friends,
With a new decade comes big change. We're going to miss this view.
When we moved into our space on North Williams Ave in Portland, our vision was to create a space where we could build the best custom bikes in an open, inviting atmosphere and also offer a gathering place for cyclists to enjoy a coffee before a ride or food after.
While we had no prior cafe experience, we learned along the way and we have grown together as a family. Over the last year, the cafe has gotten busier but it is no longer viable to stay open.
It pains us to make this decision but we have decided to close the Breadwinner Cafe to focus on making bicycles and wheels. The last day open will be January 5th.
☕Please come in this week, have a coffee and avocado toast and give us a hug.
** Today we are closed **
We have some very loyal fans and regulars who’ve made us part of their routine and we are so grateful.
We will still be in the shop building wheels and bicycle frames so please stop by anytime. Thank you.

The cafe may be closing, but we sell these bad boys on our website or swing by the shop to pick one up.
☕Hold a piece of the cafe in your hands forever!

As we move into the new year, we reflect upon what an incredible year 2019 was for us here at the Breadwinner. We are sad to be closing the cafe, but we are excited for this crew bringing us into the new decade.
Stop by today to tell us all about your holiday as we sip a coffee or beer together.
Wishing you many enchanting miles in the new year!
