The Sunday Parkways team is getting ready for our next event in East Portland on June 28! Do you know someone who might enjoy volunteering at this event? We are looking for volunteers to support our afternoon shifts (12:30-4:00 p.m.) on the Intersection Superhero and Mobile Superhero teams.

What a way to kick off the 2026 Portland Sunday Parkways season presented by Kaiser Permanente!

Southwest Portland showed up yesterday with an estimated 10,500 participants (a 17% increase from last year) spending a beautiful day walking, biking, rolling, playing, shopping, and connecting on car-free streets through SW’s rolling hills.

Baby goats, face painting, balloon art, live music, fitness classes, and busy vendor marketplaces kept the energy high all day. We loved seeing so many neighbors, families, and friends enjoying the day together while supporting local businesses and community organizations.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, performed, partnered, and helped make the first event of the season such a success. Mark your calendars for our next event in East Portland on June 28!

Sunday Parkways vendors sell food and goods, share information and resources, and connect with thousands of Portlanders.

The 2026 Portland Sunday Parkways season, presented by Kaiser Permanente, kicks off in less than a month! Celebrate car-free streets at the Southwest Portland event on May 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Connect with neighbors and friends as you explore Southwest Portland your way! Choose between a 2-mile route for walking, biking, and rolling, or a 2.6-mile self-guided walking route in partnership with SWTrails Portland.

Along the way, stop by featured activations at Gabriel Park, Village Park, Multnomah Arts Center, Multnomah Village, and Spring Garden Park for vendor marketplaces, community booths, live entertainment, and free activities for all ages.

Kaiser Permanente invites participants of all ages to learn, play and explore healthy habits at its popular interactive booths: MOVE, PLAY, NOURISH and CONNECT. Kids can play the popular Kaiser Permanente Sticker Hunt by visiting each booth to collect stickers and earn a prize.

💜 Meet the volunteers who help make Sunday Parkways happen 💜

Since 2023, the Hayhurst Neighborhood Association has been showing up for Southwest Portland Sunday Parkways, supporting safe, open streets and creating a welcoming space by adopting an intersection along the event route. They’ll be back at this year's Southwest event on May 17, helping keep the event running smoothly and making the day fun for everyone.

Their team shared what makes volunteering together so meaningful:
“Adopting an intersection as a neighborhood group is a great experience, and we highly recommend it. Meeting and talking to so many participants reminds us how kind and friendly Portlanders are. It’s a strong sense of community.”
