Please join us for a reception celebrating our featured exhibition "Lookout Landscape," featuring the work of David Buckley Borden.

"Lookout Landscape" explores the iconic lookout tower, trail culture, and backcountry gear as a means to explore the rich (and sometimes conflicting) relationships between the “working forests” and the people that call them home. The wildfire-inspired work explores diverse cultural narratives of Pacific Northwest forests through installation art, architectural design, material culture, and interdisciplinary science- communication at the intersection of culture and forest ecology.

"Lookout Landscape" features the work of David Buckley Borden and his interdisciplinary collaborative team of scientists, artists, and designers, and is hosted in partnership with the Center for the Future of Forests and Society at Oregon State University’s College of Forestry.

Introducing our latest pop-up exhibit: A Story of Growth

To mark our 60th anniversary, we’re unveiling a special pop-up exhibit that traces the journey from forest to fiber through a limited-edition blanket created with Pendleton Woolen Mills and Portland-based artist and architect Genevieve Fu.

Inspired by tree rings, the design reflects how forests—and communities—grow over time. Each ring tells a story of resilience, change, and connection.

Visitors are invited to take part by contributing to collaborative “tree ring” quilts made from upcycled Pendleton wool. Add your own layer and become part of a shared story that continues to grow.

Plus, we’ve stocked the Forest Store with Pendleton gifts and gear—and you can shop the limited-edition blanket featured in the exhibit.

Step into the shadowy edges of the forest for a night of storytelling inspired by the folklore of American logging camps. “Fearsome creatures” were the strange and often humorous beings imagined by lumberjacks and shared around campfires to entertain, explain the unknown, and welcome newcomers into life in the woods.

At this spooky Forest Pub, these campfire tales come to life through live storytelling—blending humor, mystery, and tradition.
