You know we love bamboo. It’s an incredible renewable resource that’s been utilized for centuries. On September 18th, all over the world, World Bamboo Day is celebrated. The day was created in 2009 by the World Bamboo Organization to raise awareness about the benefits of bamboo. Designed to emphasize bamboo’s significant environmental, economic, and social impact. Want to know a cool fact about bamboo? It’s the world’s tallest grass! The leaves of bamboo plants can produce 20-35% more oxygen than trees. Bamboo forests can absorb nearly 5x as much carbon dioxide from the air compared to many trees It is a truly incredible plant.
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant, some species are able to grow up to an astonishing three feet in just one day! Bamboo is an incredibly hardy plant that thrives in tropical climates and requires little water. Bamboo has been a dependable resource for centuries and because of its fast growth it is a sustainable crop for greener living. A perfect choice for a sustainable future, we are huge fans.

Let’s brag a little… every little action adds up to the big picture. Bring your own straws, choose a reusable item over disposable, refuse plastic when you can. We don’t have to do it perfectly, we just have to try.
World Clean Up Day is September 20th. It’s a day where people around the globe can take action to clean up their local communities by focusing on removing waste and recycling. The first global effort of this scale had 17.8 million participants and it has continued to grow.
How can you get involved?
