We ❤️ Longfellow Teachers & Staff!
The PTO hosted an appreciation luncheon for the teachers and staff yesterday. All staff ordered a custom lunch combo from Tally’s Kitchen. Members of the PTO Community Support Committee prepared hand-made signs.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all teachers and staff for all you do for our students at Longfellow. Here are some of the pictures from yesterday:

Please Sign Up for Pooled Testing! It Will Help Keep Us in School! Thank You!
Pooled Testing and Online Consent Forms

Starting in the fall, pooled testing will be utilized as a new mitigation layer for K through 6th grade. Pooled testing will be provided by Concentric and is made possible by the state-funded program.

WHAT IS POOLED TESTING?

Pooled testing provides a weekly look at a “pool” of students and staff. A self-administered nose swab is pooled with other members of the pool. There will be 10-20 members per pool. A PCR test of the pool will reveal whether COVID-19 is present. If positive, further testing (rapid BINAX) will be performed on all members of the pool. If the rapid test is negative, individuals will not need to quarantine. If positive, individuals and close contacts outside of the pool will need to quarantine without exception.

Currently, Longfellow has 107 students or 38% of our school community who can participate in pool testing. We hope to have 100% participation.

Coming Soon: Longfellow Virtual Walkathon 2020!!

The world’s (more than) a little crazy, and our Thanksgiving holidays might look different this year … But if your family is doing something active, how about doing it for Longfellow?!

Usually, the Longfellow Walkathon is in September at school, but this year…

👟 It’s virtual

🦃 It’s happening all of Thanksgiving week (11/22 – 11/29)

🏔 It’s anywhere and everywhere!

🚲 Any distance and any modality (walk, jog, hike, bike…)

🎊 And as always, there will be silly bandz and a raffle!

Silly bandz will be distributed to all Longfellow students the week before.

The raffle will feature gift certificates, and a few special items. There are three ways to earn a ticket (do all three to increase your chances!)

1. Let us know that you have walked (or ran/hiked/etc) for Longfellow by emailing your kids’ name(s) to [email protected]

2. Post on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag – pictures are great!

3. If you can, make a donation to the Longfellow PTO and try to recruit family and friends to do the same – community support for the PTO is critical in these tough times! Each donation is another chance to win!
