Very simply, chiropractic is the art and science of locating and removing physical interferences to normal nerve function so that the muscles, organs and glands of the body can work properly and a state of health can exist. It accomplishes this by mechanical means, without the use of drugs or surgery, by moving misaligned vertebra back to their normal positions with the purpose of taking the pressure off affected nerves. This procedure is called an adjustment.
With that in mind, we have acquired the state-of-the-art low-impact adjusting tool...the Impulse IQ by Neuromechanical Innovations. This instrument has a built-in computer microprocessor that provides constant feedback during the adjustment to (1) initially determine how much resistance exists in a given joint, (2) how many impulses (taps), and the frequency and duration of those impulses are needed to restore maximum motion to that joint and (3) then shuts off automatically when that movement has been accomplished...all at low force. Our patients are loving it!!!
