One of my favorite, long time clients gave me this orchid several years ago. I’ve never had much luck with orchids and this is the only one I’ve successfully gotten to bloom again for me every year since she gifted it to me. I wait all year long to see signs of a new bloom shoot and then months watching it slowly grow longer, then sprout little nubs, then patiently wait as those nubs begin to open and bless me with these beautiful flowers. What a lovely gift that continues to give beauty to my room. I can’t wait til this client comes in so I can show her it’s flowered once again!

One of my long time clients gifted me the sweetest birthday gifts today- a bird book and a pair of binoculars! We’ve been talking about how I’m getting into my birding era and as she’s been in hers for as long as I’ve been alive, she’s been thrilled to share her abundance of bird knowledge with me. She also wanted me to have something fun to do post surgery when I’ll be sitting around for weeks. The connections I’ve made w my clients over the years is so amazing and special. I look forward to seeing them as much as they look forward to seeing me. I feel so blessed and grateful for this magical lil life.

I decided to end the raffle for a few days early because I’m getting second surgery on my ankle in June and wanted to give the winner time to schedule their massage before I go out on medical leave. We raised $150 for my favorite place in Portland and I’m so very grateful to everyone who bought a raffle ticket. I’ve really enjoyed doing these massage raffles and I look forward to doing another one in the fall. If you haven’t checked out Leach Botanical Garden yet, now is the time. Spring and summer are fabulous times in the garden.

I’m doing another raffle, this time for Leach Botanical Garden. is one of my favorite places in all of Portland. I’ve been a member for years and I can’t express how much it means to me. It’s at risk of closing down due to the city of Portland not renewing their grant. So to try to help, I’m rattling off a 90 min massage at $10 a ticket. If I sell a lot, I’ll raffle off 2 massages! Tickets can be purchased through Venmo, PayPal, or Cashapp. I’m mossyadventure on all platforms. I also encourage everyone to go visit the garden and experience the magic of Leach for yourself!

Anyone else put special friends in their plants? This plant is named Miranda after my bestie with two specials given to me by her- one from Mongolia and one from Santa Fe. Miranda the peace lily is currently thriving and bringing great vibes to the massage room.

Closing out my last massage of the year on such a beautiful day. It’s wild to think this lil space has been opened for 7 months now. Reflecting on all the twists and turns, ups and downs of this year and feeling so grateful to have come through it feeling supported and hopeful. Thanks to everyone who’s gotten a massage in this room in 2025. Looking forward to more cozy massages in 2026!

Before giving the Yung Pueblo book “Inward” to a client today, I was skimming through it for the first time since reading it a few years ago. I came upon this passage that felt very true to where I’m at right now in life and what I’m trying to do as a massage therapist and a person. A good friend gave me this book and it felt right passing it on to a client I love and who I’ve become very close with over the last six or so years.
