Woodfords Club is a social club established in 1913 where men and women can gather for dinners or recreation. Located in Portland, Maine. Members love to learn.

The Club is a great venue for events such as weddings; its commercial kitchen provides educational opportunities and small business ventures. Woodfords Club has existed for over a hundred years; the Club rooms reflect this by-gone era. the Club offers a wide variety of social activities - ranging from competitive ones such as card games like cribbage and bridge, onsite games like pool, billiards a

nd bowling, and social events such as the weekly family meals and entertainment. Woodfords Club members love to socialize. Weekly family dinners followed by entertainment or speakers on relevant topics bring us all together. We excel at having fun during work parties, such as the recent lobby upgrade. Weekly informal bridge lessons help bridge players at all levels better understand modern bridge. Whether after our weekly Friday dinner or during other scheduled sessions, Woodfords Club provides learning opportunities. Members really love to play. Informal cribbage games are held on Friday afternoons and evenings. ACBL sanctioned bridge clubs and tournaments are held at Woodfords Club. A social bridge club meets on Thursday mornings; on Friday afternoon and evenings, informal bridge games are held. Pool or billiards can be played for fun or for competition during Monday evening league play. Members can participate in golf league play during Tuesday morning.  Religious ceremonies & funeral receptions
 Other events include auctions, cultural festivals, and use as a film location

For those who missed out on GW Bell's fabulous estate auction - you will have a chance to participate next year - January 5, 2013! Next year's event will be doubly exciting since it will be held in conjunction with TWC centenial celebrations. Keep posted for upcoming details. It's going to be an exciting year!

The Woodfords Club will be home to a HUGE Estate Auction January 7, 2012. The Woodfords Club will be open January 7, 2012 at 7:30 a.m. for an early viewing. Gerry Bell - well known throughout Portland - will be overseeing this happening. Antiques and Historical items will be among items available in this once in a lifetime offering.

There's a live chat with Loren Coleman - for Coast to Coast Insiders, for a Live Chat with Coast to Coast radio program special guest, cryptozoologist Loren Coleman, this Tuesday, October 25th, at 7pm PT/10pm ET (one hour earlier than our usual time).

Take a close look at the front page photo in today's Portland Press Herald. That's one of the CVC staff going through security in advance of Michele Obama's appearance yesterday in Portland. Nancy of CVC caterer's - our Friday Night Member Dinner's caterer - was the caterer chosen for the First Lady's event!
