Days before the largest-ever layoffs at Portland State, faculty & students rallied to demand an alternative:
“President Cudd: the worst of this can be avoided. There’s still time to stand with the PSU community & save this university.”
“This is one of a million little ways that the union is working together to ensure that we’re bringing people in,” said International Scholar and Faculty Advisor Katie Trencheny. “Showing them why this is important so we can make sure this is the PSU we all want it to be.”

Horrifying.
"None of the agents knew anything about the workers in the van prior to stopping them. They were farmworkers who had been driving to work early in the morning when they were pulled over by immigration officers in downtown Woodburn.
According to court documents, the agents had no reason to suspect any of the passengers were in the country illegally except for their race and ethnicity when they stopped the van."

Join HCAO throughout the week for one of the many educational events. This will be followed up by a candle light vigil for all who have or will lose their lives due to medicaid funding cuts.

We're excited to co-host the US premiere of Colorless, Odorless, a documentary by South Korean artist and award-winning filmmaker Eunhee Lee on Wednesday, June 3rd to kick off the Toxic Roots conference.
Centering the lived experiences of Asian women and migrant workers, the film exposes the health hazards faced by communities working in and living near semiconductor manufacturing industries.
Following the screening, we’ll be joined by movement leaders Ted Smith and Amanda Hawes for a special Q&A discussion with Eunhee Lee.
