The goals you had for yourself when you were 20 may change by the time you're 30, 40, 50, and on. Be proud of how far you've come, how you've changed, and be motivated by the idea that you're always moving forward.

That WAS the time.

Before going off to college, I was working in real estate and had a mentor about 10 years older than me. I thought of him as ‘the cool guy’ and wanted his advice, but I didn’t quite understand his advice at the time.

He said, “You only go around once.”

At the time, I thought it was pretty cliche. Of course we only go around once, people say that all the time! It wasn’t until later that I fully grasped what my colleague meant.

If it's important to you, don't put it off.

What goals do you have in life that you’ve considered putting off? I’d like to challenge you to consider how you can start working toward those goals now and live your life the way you were meant to.

I always thought I'd have MORE time.

There have often been times in my life where I’ve put something off that was important to me - starting a band, climbing a mountain, moving to the beach - only to realize later that the moments it occurred to me to take on those challenges were the times I should have started working toward those goals.

While it’s not too late to go for those goals, if we always tell ourselves, “I can do it later,” we may never end up doing the things that are important to us.

The life advice I ignored...

Recently I was asked about the best piece of advice I got that I didn't take - and immediately thought about how I've always assumed I would eventually move to the coast. It got me thinking - when is 'eventually'? I wanted to share this story with you to encourage you to take the leap for that thing you've been putting off.
