The news of the PPS rightsizing proposals carries immense weight for Peninsula and our greater North Portland community. As we all process the information together and individually, let’s continue to show up for each other, prioritize our students, and find ways to celebrate our incredible community throughout the school year.

Families and caregivers of disabled and/or neurodivergent students are invited to connect, share resources, navigate special education together, and build community. This includes families of students with IEPs, 504s, BIPs, or those in the process of seeking support.

Need a few staples? We’ve got you.

The Peninsula Food Pantry is here for Peninsula families and stocked with shelf-stable kitchen essentials in the school lobby. Caregivers are welcome to take what they need during school office hours—no questions asked.

🛒 Donations we are collecting:
• Pasta
• Tomato sauce
• Peanut butter & jam
• Canned meat or tuna
• Rice
• Menstrual products
• Cleaning supplies

And some good news: more food is on the way! Peninsula has been selected to receive monthly food boxes from Sunshine Division. Look for boxes at Back to School Night on October 8 and please take one if your family could use it.

Does this cool(ish) weather have you feeling indoorsy, but you still want to help at Community Care Day on Saturday? Principal Martinez is looking for a few helpers to assemble furniture. Same timeframe as the gardening activity, Saturday 9/19 9am-11:30am.
