Based in Seattle, Sophie Gardner turns exceptional stones into small-scale sculpture with a sharp, irreverent edge. Hand-carved agate, jade, opal and jasper become fish, hands, shells and other unexpected forms, finished with gold, diamonds and exacting detail. Her work is technically rigorous, decidedly strange and impossible to mistake for anyone else’s.⁠⁠⁠⁠
