This movie blew me away.
I love an indie crime thriller, and Tuner was perfect. So many great moments, great acting, amazing characters. I was fully bought in literally 2 minutes into the movie.
Leo Woodall and Havana Rose Liu are a perfect match on screen and both of them are talents to watch over the next decade. I think they’re both going to be huge stars.
Oh yeah, and Dustin Hoffman is in this and he’s always awesome.
Did I mention this was the narrative the feature debut for Daniel Roher? He’s already an Academy Award-winning director for his documentary work on projects like Navalny, one of my favorite docs, and The AI Doc.
This movie goes to show how much talent he has with storytelling no matter if it’s fiction or truth.
I can’t recommend it enough. Please go watch Tuner.

Call me crazy - Terrifier is that good.
I truly think Art the Clown is hilarious comedic work. It’s modern day slapstick comedy but with all the violence that other slapstick comedies leave out.
David Howard Thornton is a physical comedy master. Truly a once in a generation talent.
Terrifier is known for the brutality, but as a horror slapstick comedy it’s equally as entertaining.

Nathan Fielder is back and this movie is going to be like The Avengers for people who love weird and uncomfortable situations.
The first trailer for A24’s You Can See Everything dropped today and it’s blowing my mind.
Pitting Nathan Fielder against a master con artist like Elizabeth Holmes is fascinating. It’s Batman Vs Superman. Or maybe more like Batman and The Joker…
At 3 hours long, I’m shocked that this has mainstream appeal, but I’m so happy that it’s getting a theatrical release. The weirdos are winning!
You Can See Everything is in theaters on October 16th.

Was no one going to tell me that Mrs. Doubtfire was in fact Robin Williams!?! Major spoilers!!!
I’m just having fun though. Mrs. Doubtfire is here on 4K Blu-ray for the first time and you can get your copy on September 29th!

Looks like the big “fight” is over. Billionaires win again.
Paramount and the Ellisons are going to own Warner Brothers. Even if I do expect them to still run them both into the ground, it’s a sad day.
Vote them all out. Our government needs a reset.
Billionaires have all the power. Our government is useless and powerless against them, and they cave so easily.
Well, the big “fight” from the attorney generals across the US against the Paramount and Warner Brothers merger has fallen flat.
They couldn’t even hold out until October 1st, when some of the financial strain would start to hit Paramount and possibly cause them to back out.
Paramount threatened to leave California and the California AG caved immediately, taking 11 other states with him as they completely sold out to another billionaire family.
Billionaires run the country. They run the media. They run the government. They have more power than any government body, and it shows.
Sad times for free speech, censorship, freedom of expression, and filmmaking.
I fully expect this to still fail as a business model - the Ellisons have failed as owners of Paramount and I expect it to get worse. Don’t be surprised if WB is sold for scraps in a few years. But it’s still a sad day.
Bring on the indie filmmakers and the companies that celebrate diverse voices and unique perspectives. They’re the winners in all of this.

Darth Vader barely sees the screen across 11 Star Wars movies (and counting) but he’s still the most iconic villain in film history.
What do they say about less is more? There’s something mythical and mysterious about Vader even after all the prequels and back story, because he is used so much less than other similar characters.
The thought of him and his looming presence over all of the films is enough. He doesn’t even have to be on screen.
I always want more Vader. I’d love a standalone movie. But I also don’t want to ruin what makes him so iconic.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a brilliant social commentary on slaughterhouses and the meat industry.
Did anyone else read the movie this way? It’s all I can think about now when I watch it.
