Some days are long, tiring and a bit frustrating. The ukulele always helps, though.

I picked up the ukulele for the first time on a horse camping trip in 2020. Such weird times… horse camping was one of the few things that kept me going.

Something to enjoy.

My friend Terraka brought her ukulele and taught me a few chords… and something clicked. This was easy and fun. A way to get lost in the music but without the hassle of band practice or lugging keyboards (or, good heavens, a piano) around.

I learned so many songs that year. And I still do.

It doesn’t get old- I still love this little instrument. I love feeling my way into different songs and exploring them, stripped all the way down.

I wrote the first Bloodtypes album on guitar (which i don’t actually play - not sure how I did it), the second on keyboards… and somehow I’m now writing songs on the ukulele. Who would have thought.
