Mark your calendar for this impactful โ and colorful! โ art show featuring the work of our very own Kate Reed . Shop art from dozens of Past Lives Members in our Gallery and celebrate Pride by viewing Kate's vibrant portrayal of q***r folk. (2808 S.E. 9th Ave. in Portland)
Kate's statement about the show:
"The main reason I started this series is that Gay intimacy is so underrepresented in our arts in general. When the idea came to me to do the paintings, I realized I was intimidated and scared that people would react negatively. I worried that galleries wouldn't want to put them up due to inviting protest. That fear was a signal to me that these paintings needed to happen. Being loud and proud is important in our world if we ever want to be treated equally."
Whatโs your favorite tool?
But seriously, we love our embroidery machines over at Past Lives Makerspace! They are a big part of our wonderful textiles guild, and allow awesome businesses like to run out of the makerspace.
