Had a great time collaborating with Bruce Petersen on these two very large (16’x7’) Oregon walnut “discussion” trestle tables for a local Classical Education school. They needed tables that would comfortably sit 22 kids for class discussions. The walnut was milled by Zena Forest Products in Salem, Oregon and came out of an old pioneer walnut grove. There were still led bullets in the lumber, which we left as part of the story. We settled on star inlays to fix bigger knots and flaws in the wood, making the tops look like galaxies. We therefore named the tables Milky Way and Andromeda.
