And somehow… we’re already in the throes of September! What a whirlwind. While we’ve been busy over here at the office, we couldn’t leave you without a material palette of the month! With this wild and unpredictable weather we’ve been having (and maybe even a hurricane), this palette is inspired by the softening colors of late summer, hot coffee, cozy mornings, and anticipation for the coming change of season.

As construction continues over at the Cape Elizabeth ADU, we can't help but swoon over the play of angles and natural light ... peep the laser beam in photo 3⚡️

• Meet the Team •

We are excited to introduce the second part of our team, Architectural Designer, Morgan Bloom!

Before starting with Studio OBWI in early 2022, Morgan completed her Master of Architecture at Montana State University. Being from Alaska, she enjoys the outdoors and everything coastal living has to offer. The ocean and expansive hiking opportunities of the Northeast are a constant source of exploration and creative inspiration. When Morgan's not in the studio, you can find her block printing, trying new restaurants + breweries, and training for a half marathon in October!

SoPo ADU | Renovation
Before + After

Everyone loves the a good ol’ fashioned !

This 445 square foot garage-turned-ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) is one of the first of its kind in South Portland. As the city of South Portland has recently updated ADU regulations, home-owners can more easily incorporate ADU’s onto their property as a means to address the local housing shortage.

The SoPo ADU was designed for our client’s mother, to allow privacy and comfort while also being near to family. The space is retrofitted to accommodate more current energy code + residential amenities, resulting in a warm, efficient and bright 1 bedroom concept.

Let us know how we can make your ADU dreams a reality!
