💧Rainwater Harvesting!

💧Come learn about safe and ethical means to harvest rainwater as we talk about different harvest and use techniques, common concerns and pitfalls of rainwater collection, and how to build a system that best serves your needs.

💧We’ll take time to talk about methodology and then learn together real time as we construct a simple rainwater harvest system.

💧Participants will be able to go home with a parts kit (barrel not included) that can be used in conjunction with whatever catchment container works for them! 🙌🏽

Grow food with almost no water - yes really! Join us to learn the ancient art of dry farming, get your hands in the soil with heirloom corn, tepari beans and winter Queen watermelons.

Dry farming is a valuable technique used to ensure a good yield of culturally relevant foods in a water scarce climate. This training will show how these techniques can be adapted and replicated in our northwest climate to minimize water use, build healthier soil, and create opportunities to be in community with the elements and each other.

thank you and the fabulous sharita towne ✨for paining these one-of-a-kind, hand-painted signs for the farm! bryan yonki led an-all day workshop for the folks, where they learned the basics of sign painting 🎨 and we got these super cool signs. we put them up today 😊

Thanks to all the folks who came out today and spent time with us for Black Sunday! We truly appreciate each of you every week that we get time together.

Black Sunday was lit. We ate, we talked, we played games. This is our 7th year and we’ve done this well over a hundred times.
Black Sunday is about unity and Black Joy. It is a place where we uplift one another and leave better off than when we arrived. Every Sunday from now to October 17th, we will gather at the farm to do that over and over again to continue to grow together.

It’s that time is that time again MLK Day! come out and be with us or our friends Feedem Freedom (click the QR link) to celebrate the gift that was Dr. King. We will work, and gather. It’s especially important in these times that we gather with our kin, like minded folk, allies and co conspirators. All are welcome!
