I was invited by to my first Blazers game, and what surprised me most wasn’t just the game — it was how intentional the whole experience felt. What I learned from partnering with First Tech is they are a credit union, and through their First Tech Beyond program, members get access to surprise-and-delight moments and special experiences with all four Portland pro teams: the Blazers, Thorns, Timbers, and Fire. That kind of access doesn’t feel flashy — it feels thoughtful.

What really landed for me is that First Tech doesn’t just put their name on things. They create opportunities for their members. The kind that make you feel included, considered, and genuinely appreciated. And because they’re member-owned, that people-first mindset shows up across the board — fewer fees, better rates, stronger service, and support that’s meant to help you move forward, not feel stuck.

And yes… for my very first game, they spoiled me. I may never emotionally recover from that.

If the new year has you thinking about resetting after the holidays and getting smarter with money, you can book a better conversation with First Tech using my link in bio.

There are restaurants that try to impress you.
And then there are chefs who quietly let you into their mind.
Wolf is fifteen seats. One long Douglas fir table that Chef Ryley built with his own hands. Candlelight. A playlist that feels almost reckless at first — until you realize it’s perfectly paced to the rhythm of the courses. The room has a pulse.
We walked in strangers.
By the third course, we were passing plates, comparing notes, laughing louder than we meant to. Something about sitting shoulder to shoulder, watching a chef plate inches from you, softens people. It felt like eating in your best friend’s living room — if your best friend happened to cook like this.
Ryley doesn’t posture. He doesn’t narrate himself into importance. He just moves. Focused. Measured. Electric in that contained way that comes from knowing exactly what you’re doing.
The menu unfolded like chapters.
Oysters bright with leche de tigre and smokey trout roe.
A scallop balanced with pork belly and nuoc cham.
Lobster layered in laksa — aromatic, controlled, confident.
Beetroot with citrus, pumpernickel crumble, chèvre snow — winter here, refined.
He moves from Pacific Northwest ingredients to French structure to Southeast Asian aromatics without losing his center. That’s not trend-chasing. That’s understanding technique deeply enough to make it your own.
There were moments I stopped mid-bite.
Not because it was loud.
Because it was intentional.
Wolf doesn’t beg to be known. It doesn’t chase attention. It simply exists in its own quiet confidence — and lets the right people find it.
We walked in strangers.
We left exchanging numbers.
And that’s what happens when food is thoughtful enough to bring people closer.
Portland… this one is special.

To my valentine - I’ve lived a lot of chapters in this life. Some loud. Some brutal. Some beautiful.
And somehow, in the middle of all that, I found you.

Thank you for taking off my socks at the end of long days when I’m too tired to even think straight.
Thank you for holding me when I was so beaten up emotionally I didn’t think I could go on. You didn’t try to fix it. You just stayed.

Thank you for traveling the country with me while I was still searching for where I belonged. You never made me feel crazy for needing to find it.

When people tell me I’m too much, you say, “Be more.”
And you mean it.

When my depression took hold and I couldn’t get out of bed, you didn’t lecture me. You didn’t rush me.
You just laid there with me.

That kind of love is not loud.
It’s steady. It’s patient. It’s safe.

You’ve loved me at my strongest and at my absolute lowest.
Not just the version that performs well. The real one.

We’re not perfect. We’re not a fairytale.
We’re two grown humans choosing each other every day.

And that feels like the most romantic thing of all.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
I love you.
