🟢 HERNANDO COUNTY: LET’S SHINE A LIGHT OF HOPE AND SUPPORT FOR OUR VETERANS! 🟢

Hernando County Veteran Services is proud to join the nationwide movement for Operation Green Light for Veterans, partnered with the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers (NACVSO).

From November 4 through Veterans Day, November 11, communities across the nation will illuminate buildings, porches, and storefronts in vibrant GREEN to send a clear, unmistakable message to our former service members:

You are seen. You are appreciated. You are supported. 💚

🚨 WE ARE STARTING THE CAMPAIGN NOW AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Our office is gearing up for a major push across the county. We are actively reaching out to:
🏢 Local businesses & chambers of commerce
🏫 Schools & youth organizations
🏛️ County, municipal, & public safety buildings
🤝 Civic clubs, faith groups, & HOA communities

Our mission? Turn ALL of Hernando County green this November! But to make this truly countywide, we can't do it alone.

🗣️ SOUND OFF IN THE COMMENTS: WHO SHOULD WE CONTACT?

We want to build this campaign together as a community:
👇 Drop a comment below and tell us:
Who else should we reach out to? Tag your favorite local shops, restaurants, gyms, schools, churches, or community groups that should go green for our veterans!

Who have YOU talked to already? Let us know if your neighborhood, workplace, or business is already planning to participate so we can cheer you on.

💡 How You Can Participate:
Change one exterior or entryway light bulb to green starting November 4th. Grab a green bulb on your next shopping run so you're ready!

Share the Post: Share this to your local community and neighborhood groups to get the momentum building today.
Connect with Us: Are you a business owner, school coordinator, or community leader wanting to coordinate bulk efforts or display materials? Shoot us a message or contact our office at (352) 754-4033 [email protected].

Over 20,000 veterans call Hernando County home. Let’s make sure every single one of them sees just how much this community stands behind them.

Let’s light it up, Hernando! 🇺🇸🟢

Twenty-five years later, we still remember the day that changed our nation forever.

Today, we remember the lives that were taken, the families who continue to carry that loss, and the heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.

We remember the first responders, the members of our military, the volunteers, and the everyday Americans who showed extraordinary courage, compassion, and unity in the days that followed.

May we never forget the lives lost, the sacrifices made, or the strength our nation found in coming together.

25 years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Remember and honor by being the people you were 25 years ago on 9/12
