We had a sweet chicken come in after a run-in with a dog. 🐓 🐶 Thankfully she’s on the mend and in good hands!
A gentle reminder for anyone with chickens and dogs at home: even pets who’ve lived together peacefully for years can have a bad moment. A little supervision goes a long way. 🩵

Ever notice your pet squinting or keeping one eye shut? 👀 It could be a sign of a corneal ulcer, which is more common in pets than you’d think, and early detection makes all the difference.
Here’s what to look out for:
• Squinting or holding the eye closed
• Excess tearing or discharge
• Redness and swelling
• Rubbing/pawing at the eye
• A cloudy, hazy, or bluish look
The good news is these respond really well to treatment. Swipe through for a few of the pets we’ve treated. 🐶🐱
This is when Sebastian first came in to see us, unable to open his left eye. It turned out to be a corneal ulcer causing all that squinting and discomfort.
Look at that eye after 3 days of treatment! 👀 ✨ Sebastian’s corneal ulcer is healing beautifully and he’s back to opening both eyes wide.

This sweet girl came in squinting and clearly uncomfortable. 🥺 A tear test and corneal stain revealed a corneal ulcer caused by dry eye (KCS).

We treated her ulcer using a serum made from her own blood….yes, really! Autologous serum is one of the coolest tools in vet med, and it worked wonders for her eye. Vet med never stops amazing us 🐾

Iggy struck the perfect pose on the exam table…but she was really here for an echocardiogram (an ultrasound of the heart) to check in on her heart murmur. Such a cutie, inside and out! 💕
