JB Products Development Update

Currently working on:

• Full lineup of plastic Hubs
• Smaller-OD magnesium Hubs
• 1/32 scale magnesium Hubs

Lots of testing and development still ahead, but I'm excited about the direction these projects are heading.

As always, products will be thoroughly tested before release.

Big congratulations to my Dad, Don Bonanno, on his first A-Main win at the GRRR Retro Series race at Fast Eddie's! 🏆🏁

His car was running JB Treated Fish Tires and got the job done.

Pretty cool seeing him take home the win after all the time we've spent racing together over the years. Proud of you, Dad!

One thing that's always been important to me is helping fellow racers.

If you ever have questions about chassis setup, tire selection, tire prep, gearing, handling issues, race strategy, or anything slot car related, don't hesitate to reach out.

I may not always have the perfect answer, but I'm always happy to share what I've learned through years of racing, testing, and experience.

Tuning Tip Thursday 🏁

Don't overlook hub material and size.

Over the years I've found both magnesium and plastic hubs can be useful, depending on what you're trying to achieve.

Magnesium hubs generally keep the tire more supported and stable. They can make a car feel more precise and consistent, especially when you're looking for maximum performance and responsiveness.

Plastic hubs tend to allow the tire to work a little more. In some situations that extra flex can help generate bite and make a car easier to drive.

Hub diameter plays a role too. Larger hubs reduce tire flex while smaller hubs allow the tire to move around more and can sometimes help a car find grip.

As with most tuning changes, there is no magic answer. The track, chassis, tire compound, and driving style all play a part.

Don't be afraid to experiment. A simple hub change can sometimes make a bigger difference than people expect.

What have you guys found works best on your local tracks?

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided that JB Products will no longer be producing retro chassis or expanding into other product categories.

Going forward, my primary focus will be on what I’m most passionate about and where I believe I can provide the best products possible with my tires.

One thing I want JB Products to always be about is bringing people along for the ride, not just showing the wins. We’ll be testing these over the next few hundred laps and sharing honest feedback with the public whether the rubber works great, shows promise, or completely misses the mark.
