Pianist, composer, and internationally acclaimed musician Charlie Albright has a week long residency with Field Hall, working with students, recording music—and spending an hour with us at the Port Angeles Main Library on Tuesday, October 6, from 4-5pm! Stop by the library for music, conversation, and insight into his creative process.

This event is presented in partnership with Field Arts & Events Hall and with support from the Port Angeles Friends of the Library. Don't miss Charlie's performance at Field Hall later in the week on October 9.

Anime Kat has been a supporter of Magic Mondays at the Port Angeles Main Library from the start, donating supplies and promoting the events in their store. With their help, NOLS has been able to create an inviting community for kids and teens to learn and play Magic!

Every Monday, teens and tweens in grades 4–12 can bring their own deck or learn to play Magic: The Gathering with 60-card decks provided by the library! Join in on the fun from 3:30-4:30pm at the Port Angeles Main Library.

Thanks to everyone who joined us at the Port Angeles Main Library on Saturday for the Magic: The Gathering Draft Tournament.

Players in grades 4–12 got the full tournament experience, with timed rounds, scheduled pairings, and prizes for the top finishers.

For anyone unfamiliar with draft, players open booster packs, choose cards as they’re passed around the table, then build a deck from what they picked. Everyone kept the deck they drafted.

I also want to thank the North Olympic Library Systemfor inviting Anime Kat to help with the event. The library has been building a regular Magic community through its weekly Magic Monday program, and it was fun getting to bring a more structured tournament experience into that space.
