From tired and dated to ready for a whole new Second Story. 🪿✨

This four-drawer dresser came to us with honey-toned wood, a dark painted frame, and tiny floral k***s. It had good bones and a beautiful little scalloped detail along the bottom, but all of that character was getting lost.

For its next chapter, it was completely refinished for a custom “Silly Goose” baby nursery.

We softened the frame with a subtle sage green, took the original wood drawer fronts and top to a deep, rich finish that still allows the natural grain to show through, and finished everything off with simple brushed-gold hardware.

The result is sweet enough for a nursery without looking like nursery furniture, so this piece can grow right along with its new little owner.

That’s what we love about old furniture. Sometimes it doesn’t need replacing.

It just needs its Second Story.

When I found this beauty she was in bad shape, everyone had given up on her but time and termites. With a lil love and determination she was restored beautiful and as you can imagine she quickly found her forever home!

This isn't just a rebrand. It's a fresh chapter and a chance to build something that reflects where my work is going and, more importantly, where I'm going as a maker.
Over the years, I've built furniture from scratch, restored antiques, transformed old pieces, worked with reclaimed wood and driftwood, painted furniture and artwork, fabricated custom pieces, created sculptures and papier-mâché, and built some pretty unconventional things along the way.
I've learned that I don't really fit into one category.
I make things.
I remake things.
I restore things.
I reimagine things.
And sometimes I start with an idea and build the entire thing from scratch.
That's the heart of Second Story.
An old piece can have a new story.
A discarded material can become something completely unexpected.
And sometimes you simply take what you've learned and create something better from it.

You'll still see furniture, restoration, art and custom fabrication, but you'll also see more of the smaller handmade pieces, sculptural work, seasonal creations and whatever strange idea happens to make its way onto my workbench.
The name is new.
The hands, tools, creativity and stubborn determination behind it are the same.
