Anderson Elementary

Our 5th graders put their engineering skills to the test!Using a variety of materials, students designed and built structures to see if they could withstand the force of a “hurricane.” Lots of creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and hands-on learning in action!

Today in science, our first graders explored how heating and cooling can change materials! They predicted what would happen to juice in the freezer and recorded there before and after observations. Popsicles make learning about states of matter cool!

Some hands on learning with M&Ms in 4th grade as they introduce how to interpret remainders when we divide! They even had a surprise visit from Mrs. McCord to see their learning in action!!

A is for AMAZING! 🔤 Our kindergarten students celebrated learning all 26 letters with an ABC Parade! Each student represented a letter as they proudly paraded through the halls while Anderson Nation cheered them on. What a FUN way to culminate their alphabet study and celebrate all their hard work! ❤️💙

Yesterday our 5th graders kicked off camp week with a fun group activity! They had to create a tent to keep campers (cotton balls) dry from the rain!

Research in action! Our 5th graders are learning how to pull out the most important information, take meaningful notes, and turn their research into summaries written in their own voice. Building strong researchers AND strong writers!

Johnny Appleseed came to visit our kindergarteners last week!

This week our 5th graders made non fiction text features anchor charts to teach each other about the different parts of a book.

Our first Citizen of the Month celebration for this school year! Today we recognized students in all grade levels for being an example of creativity in all things.

Second graders enjoyed a TASTE of Authors Purpose today exploring books and determining the “Ingredients” the author included for why they wrote the book!
