Every once in awhile a program comes around that I'm over-the-top proud to offer. I got to know Gail when she did this program at the yoga studio we both attend. Her enthusiasm and passion for all of us to live calmer, more abundant, intentional lives is infectious!
Gail will teach us how to prioritize and incorporate our emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being into our regular lives. Packed full of practical tips, simple practices, food to sample (oh the food she brings!), and *things to make and take home*, she’ll be showing us how to use culinary herbs (the ones you see in the grocery store) and natural ingredients (again – Giant Eagle) to make relaxation and self-care an integral part of your daily routine.
Cost: $25 (Compare how much a 2-hour wellness workshop with this much food, knowledge and giveaways would cost you at a spa, salon, or gym.)

Just a note that the library is starting to charge for materials-heavy programs ahead of time in an effort to reduce waste. When you register on our event calendar, your spot is not secured until you've purchased a ticket through the link on the event page! Thank you!

Our Summer Reading Theme is Unearth a Story - which for the kids means 1 thing: DINOSAURS! But for the adults, we've broadened our scope to shine the spotlight on all archaeology and the people who unearth the rich stories of our long human past.

Join us for a screening of The Dig starring Ralph Fiennes. All across England in random pastures and farmers' fields there are mysterious hills of earth. Mrs. Pretty has several of them. She hires a local amateur archaeologist to help her discover what's underneath. What he discovers changes the way Anglo Saxon (that's English) history will be viewed forever.

Fans of The Last Kingdom, I'll admit that this is less of an adrenaline rush, more of a quiet afternoon film, but it's about the same history, the same time period. See how we started discovering it.

If you'd like to read the book, there's copies behind the front desk. But not required to come and enjoy the film.

Still a few places at the table for Diamond Dots Thursday night, June 11th. Just a warning, this craft is addictive. One of our highest percentages of "repeat attenders." We've got tons to choose from - holiday themed, summer themed, and just plain beautiful.

The first session of our Dinos in Disguise contest is COMING UP! Make sure you register soon!
https://pleasanthills.librarycalendar.com/event/dinos-disguise-6538

Yes - this is a contest! There are 3 chances to enter. June 22nd, July 18th, and August 18th. Yes, you can come to ALL 3 SESSIONS!

Choose from our bin o' dinosaurs, grab materials from our Craft Supplies Cave, and make a disguise for your dinosaur. We'll put all the Dinos on display throughout the summer. Winners will be drawn at random all of our entries and will receive a $25 Michael's gift card to continue their crafting career!

(This is similar to our mini-canvas contest last year.)
