đ Today, the Rig Ready team traded our inspection tools for notebooks at Americaâs Largest RV Show in Hershey!
Today and tomorrow are Industry Daysâan opportunity for RV professionals to sharpen their skills before the public show begins.
Todayâs classes covered:
⥠Troubleshooting 120-volt and 12-volt electrical issues
đ Identifying RV roof problems and selecting the proper sealants
đ The new Grounding Monitor Interrupterâor GMIârequirement for model year 2028 RVs
A GMI is an important safety device that checks for a proper ground connection before allowing electricity into the RV. If the ground connection is lost, it shuts off the power to help protect against a dangerous âhot-skinâ condition.
RV technology and safety standards continue to evolve, and so do we. Continuing education helps us know what to look for, understand why it matters and provide our clients with the most thorough, informed inspections possible.
Of course, spending the day surrounded by RVs isnât exactly a hardship for us! đ More education tomorrowâand plenty of new RVs to explore.

đŤđ Rig Ready is heading to Hershey for Americaâs Largest RV ShowÂŽ!
This will be our second year attending, and weâre excited to spend the first two days participating in industry educationâexpanding our expertise, sharpening our inspection knowledge, and connecting with other RV professionals.
Weâll also be staying for the first public show day to explore the newest RV models, features, and technology from manufacturers across the industry. After all, great inspectors never stop learningâor looking behind access panels! đ
Weâre excited to see whatâs new for 2027 and bring that knowledge back to our clients!

đ Todayâs inspection took us back a few years with a 2007 Four Winds 32B!
Fun inspection fact: An RV experiences its own mini âearthquakeâ every time it travels down the road. All that bouncing, twisting, and vibration can loosen connections, open gaps in sealant, and shift components over timeâwhich is why condition and maintenance history matter far more than the model year alone.
Older RVs can still have plenty of great adventures ahead of them, but a thorough inspection helps reveal what may be hiding beneath the surface before money changes hands.
New or usedâbuy smart. Inspect first. đ

đ Todayâs inspection: a brand-new 2026 Alliance Delta 252RL!
This nearly 30-foot travel trailer is designed with couples in mind and features a spacious rear-living layoutâthe âRLâ in 252RLâwith large windows and plenty of room to relax. But before the relaxing begins, we have some serious inspecting to do! đľď¸ââď¸đľď¸ââď¸
đ Todayâs RV trivia: The Delta 252RL holds an impressive 90 gallons of gray waterâtwice as much as its 45-gallon fresh-water tank. Thatâs a lot of showers, dishwashing and convincing yourself that one more night without visiting the dump station will be perfectly fine. đ
New RVs may look shiny and flawless, but they are assembled by hand and can have defects just like used ones. Thatâs why we test the electrical, plumbing, propane, appliances, safety equipment and much moreâbefore our client takes ownership.
Because âbrand-newâ describes the RVâs age. It doesnât guarantee its condition.
Buy with confidence. Invest wisely. Inspect first. đĄď¸

Today we inspected this cute little camper! đď¸
One of the first safety checks we performâbefore beginning the rest of the inspectionâis called a hot-skin test.
What is a hot-skin test, you ask?
A âhot skinâ condition occurs when stray electrical voltage energizes an RVâs metal components, such as the frame, entry steps, hitch, trim, or other exposed metal. Someone touching the RV while standing on the ground could receive an electrical shockâespecially in wet conditions.
This dangerous condition can be caused by several things, including:
⥠An improperly wired campground pedestal or electrical outlet
⥠A damaged shore-power cord
⥠A missing or faulty electrical ground
⥠Incorrect RV wiring
⥠A malfunctioning appliance or electrical component
Because an RV can appear perfectly normal while still having dangerous voltage present, a hot-skin condition may not be discovered until someone touches it. That is why we check for electrical voltage on the exterior of every RV before proceeding with the inspection.
It takes only a moment to test, but it can prevent a serious injuryâor save a life.
New or used RVs: Buy smart. Inspect first.

𪺠Todayâs Rig Ready inspection came with a surprise guest⌠or THREE! đŚ
Today we inspected a 2026 Brinkley Model Z 2900 fifth wheel, and apparently we werenât the only ones who thought it looked like a nice place to call home! đ
During the inspection, we discovered a birdâs nest tucked inside the pin box â complete with THREE eggs! đŞşđĽđĽđĽ
Thatâs definitely a first for us!
Fun RV fact: The pin box can make a pretty inviting nesting spot for birds â itâs elevated, sheltered from the weather, and has plenty of little nooks and crannies. Unfortunately, nests and nesting material can also hide wiring, obstruct areas that need to be inspected, and create quite a mess.
Itâs also a great example of why a thorough RV inspection means looking everywhere. Sometimes the unexpected finding isnât a leak, loose sealant, or electrical problemâŚitâs a growing family. đđŁ
Another Rig Ready RV Inspection in the books â and this one was definitely for the birds! đŚ

Todayâs Rig Ready inspection had us checking out a 2016 Tiffin Phaeton 40AH â and this one brings a whole lot of coach to the inspection! đđ
The Phaeton has long been one of Tiffinâs most popular diesel pushers. In fact, Tiffin called the 2016 Phaeton its bestselling model and one of the top-selling Class A motorhomes in the industry. (Tiffin Motorhomesâ ďżź)
Fun facts about the 40AH:
đš About 41 feet of rolling home
đš Four slide-outs for some serious living space
đš A 380-horsepower Cummins diesel paired with an Allison 6-speed transmission
đš And depending on how it was equipped, amenities could (and on this one did!) include Aqua-Hot hydronic heating, a residential refrigerator, central vacuum, washer/dryer, fireplace, dishwasher, and more. (Legacy Coachâ ďżź)
At 10 years old, this Phaeton is a great example of why a detailed inspection matters. A beautiful coach can look fantastic at first glance, but our job is to look past the shine and evaluate the systems, components and condition you donât necessarily see during a walk-through.
Because when your potential new home-on-wheels is more than 40 feet long, there are a lot of places for Tom and Victoria to go looking for trouble. đđ

đ Todayâs Rig Ready inspection: 2026 Brinkley Z Air 297! đâ¨
Todayâs inspection was a little differentâand a great example of why an independent RV inspection isnât just for buying a used RV.
Our customer purchased this brand-new 2026 Brinkley Z Air 297, took it camping for the first timeâŚand unfortunately discovered a number of issues. đŹ
The RV went back to the dealer for repairs, but before picking it up again, the owner decided on one more step:
đ Hire Rig Ready to independently inspect the RV and verify its condition after the repairs.
Smart move. After all, âthe repairs are completeâ and âeverything is working properlyâ arenât necessarily the same thing. đ
We put the Z Air through our inspection process so our customer can head into the next camping trip with a much clearer picture of the RVâs conditionâand hopefully spend the trip enjoying the campground instead of making another repair list. đď¸
đĄ Fun Brinkley fact: The âZâ in Brinkleyâs Z Air lineup is fittingâthe Z Air was designed as Brinkleyâs lighter-weight travel trailer line, bringing many of the upscale features and styling the brand is known for into a towable package that doesnât require a heavy-duty truck.
Whether youâre buying new or used, approaching the end of your warranty, or simply want an independent set of eyes after significant repairs, there are plenty of times an RV inspection can pay for itself.

đ DĂŠjĂ vu at todayâs Rig Ready inspection!
Today we were back at it inspecting a 2023 Winnebago Travato 59KL â and this one looked awfully familiar!
In fact, this is the second 2023 Travato 59KL weâve inspected in just the last few months. Same year, same make, same floorplan⌠but definitely not necessarily the same findings. Thatâs exactly why every RV deserves its own thorough inspection. đ
Fun Fact: The Travato 59KL isnât your typical Class B when it comes to electrical power. Instead of a conventional 12V house-battery setup, it uses Winnebagoâs Pure3 Energy Management System with a 48V lithium battery pack â giving this compact camper van some pretty serious off-grid capability. âĄđ
At Rig Ready, familiarity with a model is helpful, but we never assume that because weâve seen one, weâve seen them all. Every rig gets inspected one system, one component, and one test at a time.
