Atlantic Engineering Services continues to support the preservation of one of Florida’s most iconic landmarks, the St. Augustine Lighthouse.

Our team performs a detailed structural survey every few years, examining the masonry walls, lantern room, gallery deck, and stairs to document and monitor any deterioration.

This year, Megan Beery, P.E., joined the effort for the first time, performing the exterior framing inspection of the lighthouse at 140 feet with dual safety lines. The lighthouse remained open to the public, offering visitors a unique view of engineering in action!

A special celebration for a very special milestone 🎉

Our Jacksonville team came together for a combined holiday party and retirement celebration honoring Debbie Godwin, who is retiring after an incredible 45 years with AES. Debbie’s impact goes far beyond her role; she’s been a constant source of support, guidance, and positivity for so many of us.

Wishing Debbie the happiest retirement, and cheers to celebrating the season with our JAX team! 🎄✨

AES provided structural engineering services for the installation of Dante and Skyworker, two iconic Carnegie Mellon University robots, now suspended in the new Robotics Innovation Center at Hazelwood Green.

Our team analyzed the roof and floor systems to ensure they could safely support the weight of Dante (approximately 2,000 lbs) and Skyworker (around 500 lbs), designed specialized connections for rigging hardware, and coordinated with the architect to keep the components seamlessly hidden above the ceiling line.

We’re proud to have helped bring this piece of CMU’s robotics history to life in their newest innovation space!

AES was proud to support the AIA Pittsburgh Design Awards as a Bronze Sponsor at the August Wilson Center last night.

Big congratulations to all of the winners and nominees!

Construction is moving forward on the Penn Lincoln Apartments in Wilkinsburg, PA, a transformative mixed-use project led by ACTION-Housing and Hosanna House. Located at the historic site of the Penn Lincoln Hotel, the new five-story building will offer 41 affordable housing units and 12,000 SF of commercial space, supporting Wilkinsburg’s mission of inclusive revitalization.

AES is proud to be the structural engineer for this impactful project!

🎉 Exciting news from our Jacksonville office!

We’re thrilled to officially welcome Collin Kostage to AES as a full-time Structural Designer. Collin started with us as an intern back in 2019 and is a proud Florida Gulf Coast University graduate in Civil Engineering.

Collin says he’s most excited about actually doing engineering and putting the skills he’s been developing over the last five years into action. Outside of work, he enjoys history (WWI & WWII), bowling, and muscle cars.
