My (John Creasy) new book is coming out in less than a year. It's such a long process! Lots of stories connected to the farm and all I've learned from that land over the past two decades. In the meantime I'm continuing to write here on my Substack page. Check it out and subscribe if you feel so led.

We are so excited for this one-of-kind community event!! GCF is teaming up with to bring you a mixer with a twist.
While the vibes and food alone (food by ) will be well worth your time, this event will feature the cashless marketplace created by InvolveMint. This unique marketplace runs on community credits as opposed to traditional currency. Individuals earn community credits through volunteering and then can spend these credits at participating vendors. So cool, right?
Some of the vendors who are participating in the May 30th event are:
Veggies N’at
Higher Ground of Healing
Community Cultures
Wild Indigo
Creative Wellness Studio
Terroir Designs
…and more!
If you are an individual who is already part of the InvolveMint network and has credits, plan on coming to this event so that you can spend those credits at 9+ vendors. If you are an individual who doesn’t already have an account through InvolveMint, head over to their website and set it up so that you are ready to both earn and spend when you join us on the 30th. Attendees can also create an account at the event! Credits can be earned during the event through the following ways: picking up trash, bringing a book to donate to the Little Free Library, bringing a seed packet to donate to the Seed Sharing Library, pulling knotweed, and/or dropping off compost.
*Vendors will also be accepting traditional currency in addition to community credits
Hope to see you there!

For their capstone project to complete our Environmental Justice curriculum, the fab youth of chose to build a salamander habitat for the salamanders that live in the “dirt pit” in the front yard of their building. It was so much fun!!
We invited local naturalist and salamander enthusiast Joe to teach us about salamanders and help us construct a habitat for them. After teaching us about the salamanders the youth found in the yard, we all collected sticks and logs and rocks and leaves to construct the habitat.
After the habitat was completed, we installed an educational sign so that the youth and any other people who pass by can learn about salamanders and how to keep them safe. Very cool note: the salamanders on the sign were colored by the students 🦎
This was such a great example of an Environmental Justice project, bringing together discovery, appreciation, mobilization, and education!!
