Sometimes we get called in for some interesting projects. This was the first time I had seen the mortar bed for the fireplace hearth cantilevering out from the fireplace chimney.

We had a project yesterday where the plumber "termites" showed up. We'll reinforce the top chord and web diagonals of the steel bar joist that were cut in order to restore the structural integrity of the floor.
