Last week, our crew was hard at work at the Scenic Pittsburgh Colwell Connector Project, helping to improve and restore this important community green space.

Our team focused on:

✅ Invasive plant management and removal
✅ Planting trees and a variety of fruit-bearing plants, including apple trees, blueberry bushes, and pear trees
✅ Installing tree and shrub protection to prevent deer grazing damage
✅ Providing corrective pruning on trees planted by Landforce in 2025
✅ Repairing and improving planting areas to support healthy plant growth and long-term sustainability

Through these efforts, the crew is helping create a healthier, more resilient landscape while ensuring newly planted trees and shrubs have the best opportunity to thrive for years to come. 🌳🍎🫐🍐

We’re proud of the hard work and dedication our crew continues to bring to projects that strengthen Pittsburgh's green spaces and communities.

Our first batch of lumber is officially out of the kiln!

Our Mill Operations Manager, Luke, loaded up the finished lumber and delivered it to Construction Junction, where it is now available for purchase.

This first run included eastern white pine and eastern red cedar in 1 inch, 1 1/4 inch, and 1 1/2 inch thicknesses. We’re excited to begin with these species because they are ideal for fine tuning kiln operations while ensuring every step of the process is completed with care and precision.

Seeing this lumber move from the kiln to the marketplace marks a major milestone for our team as we continue expanding production capacity, strengthening our systems, and producing high quality local wood products.

Stop by Construction Junction to check it out and support locally processed lumber!
