Did you know? Nobody will see a color the exact same way that you do. And no, we’re not just talking about those who are color blind. No two people possess the exact same genetic setup for color, which leads to subtle differences in how individuals perceive distinct hues 👁️

Last night, we were given a very FIRST look at the Color of the Year palette for 2027. From how we design to how we feel and how we live, color is at the forefront of who we are and everything we perceive, and we enjoyed learning which hues we can expect to see more of this coming year.

Cozy Moody Sassy •• these interiors have us FALLing 🍂 right into October

🌺🪞A dazzling makeover if we ever did see one!

Our primary goal for the basement bathroom at our Mulberry Ridge reno was simply this: brighten it up as much as possible💡

We removed the linen closet at the entry to create more space for a new vanity with a linen tower cabinet for moderate storage. This immediately opened up the room, allowing more light to trickle in from outside since there was zero natural light.

As a secondary bathroom that wouldn’t see much use, we approached its design like a powder room and opted for a colorful Quercus & Co. wallpaper pop above the vanity that tied in the violet+orange hues from the basement (yes, wallpaper not tile!) and a bold statement mirror to match, giving it a fresh & vibrant personality.

Swapping dark for light materials and adding layers of lighting is really all it took to take this bath from drab to fab 🔮✨

Must be the season of photoshoots 📸🪄we’re no witch but some magic was definitely made this week!

It felt great to finally capture our Overbrook Edge project after working on it for what feels like forever — and if you’ve been following along for a while then this space might look very familiar. Stay tuned…we’re eager to share the final reveal with you!

We haven’t shared much of our clubhouse project in Port St. Lucie, FL 🌴🪸 mainly bc it’s been heavily value engineered from when we first designed it two years ago, but it still deserves a spot on our feed.

The tough part about working remotely on large commercial projects as a designer that nobody talks about is that we can’t be on site everyday to defend the design intent like we can for a local home build or renovation.

We aren’t only working with 1 or 2 decision makers, we’re working with several (or trying to) via phone and email.

Most budget cuts happen on the interior because it’s the last area that’s focused on. The millwork, the doors, the wall finishes.

We’re constantly in defensive mode trying to protect the integrity of the overall design while everything stays on schedule & budget…even when no one will listen.

So this clubhouse project may not be our best work and won’t end up in our portfolio, but we gave it 110% of our time and effort, just like we always do…and that’s good enough for us 🥂

Our muse for Mulberry Ridge? The quartz 🤎

Our client knew they wanted to use this particular quartz for the basement bar + kitchen from the start — they fell in love with its striking, organic, & earthy design…everything their primary kitchen isn’t.

So, we decided to lean into this and design the basement around this material (an approach that many designers take), pulling out the brown & violet hues from the stone’s veining and incorporating this into the surrounding millwork, hardware, & textiles. We landed on the perfect Benjamin Moore shade “Incense Stick” for the cabinetry after exploring several options.

The downside to this approach? Almost a year into the project after waiting for the cabinets to deliver, we were told this quartz design was discontinued…NO words that any designer wants to hear 🙉 but luckily, Armina Stone came through for us and was able to locate a few remaining slabs for us. Crisis averted!

Job well done by all…and Smoky approves 🐶☑️

What a beautiful day in the ‘Burgh for the IIDA Golf Outing! ⛳️🌤️

I’ve never golfed a day in my life 😅 but I’m so glad I gave it a try & I had the best team Eisaman Contract Associates to hype me up the entire time! Even better, the money raised was donated to the Remember Me Rose Garden - A Living Tribute to the Heroes of 9/11 Flight 93.

At our client’s request, most of the furniture & decor was sourced from Williams Sonoma brands with the exception of a few items. There’s still much to be done, but it’s thrilling to see the results of our time and effort 🤍

The fireplace was another focal element at our Mulberry Ridge reno that was desperately pleading for a facelift 🪞🪄

The mantle felt heavy and out of place, so we removed it along with the dark and dated tile surround, and in its place we installed two contrasting decorative linear tiles from floor to ceiling for a cleaner, brighter appeal.

We brought in the secondary light orange hue on the tile to complement the Benjamin Moore painted cabinets and drapery panels, allowing the basement to feel much more connected and cohesive than it was before. A new U-shaped sectional, textured rug, and decorative sconces at the sides of the fireplace also add the cozy ambiance the space was lacking.

the chaos before the calm 🫯

We had our first furniture delivery & install this week at the Henrietta Place Apartments lobby + amenity areas…and while the areas were not 100% finished when we showed up (backsplash & shelves missing), it rained ALL day (white sneakers were a poor choice), and several pieces of furniture were either missing or damaged, we did as much as we could in a short amount of time.

The show must go 🔛

We’ll share a few more progress photos next week on where we left things until the finishing touches are complete and remaining furniture arrives!
