Congratulations to ARCS Foundation Pittsburgh Chapter recipient Rebecca “Becky” McGough. Becky has served the Pittsburgh chapter in various positions, including secretary of the board, chair of the nominating committee and co-chair of the membership committee. She has a heart for nursing students and and is proud of the opportunities ARCS gives its nursing scholars to showcase their research.

Renee Jordan's research work in Dr. Frank von Hippel's Biology Lab examines the health effects of environmental pollution on St. Lawrence Island, Alaska. Her research includes studies on heavy metals, stable isotopes, genetics, and tissue morphologies to assess health risks for wildlife.

Congratulations to Bev Elliott, ARCS Pittsburgh Chapter's 2021 honoree. Bev helped found the chapter in 2003. In 2020–2021, she served as Chapter President. Currently she serves as a member of National's University Relations and Long-Range Planning committees.

As comes to a close, ARCS reflects on the women who focused on the future of in America. In 1958, a group of women dared to elevate their nation’s scientific leadership. Today, ARCS has become a model for women’s science educational philanthropy and has awarded more than $120 million to more than 10,900 scientists.
