Our pets may only be part of our lives for a chapter, but to them, we are their entire world.

On World Pet Memorial Day, we pause to remember the beloved companions who have left paw prints on our hearts. Whether they were with us for a few years or a lifetime, their love, loyalty, and companionship never leave us.

Today, we honor the dogs, cats, and other cherished pets who made us laugh, comforted us through difficult times, and became family in every sense of the word.

If you feel comfortable, we invite you to share a photo or memory of a pet you miss. Their stories deserve to be remembered, and their impact on our lives is forever.

From all of us at Desert Rose Animal Hospital, we are honored to have been part of the journey for so many beloved pets. Today, we remember them with gratitude and love. ❤️

🐱❤️ June is Adopt a Cat Month! ❤️🐱

Thinking about adding a new furry family member? June is the perfect time to consider adopting a cat! Shelters and rescue organizations are full of wonderful cats and kittens looking for loving homes.

When you adopt, you’re not only giving a pet a second chance—you’re gaining a loyal companion who will bring comfort, entertainment, and plenty of purrs into your life.

Whether you’re looking for a playful kitten, a laid-back adult cat, or a senior feline who just wants a cozy lap, there’s a cat out there waiting for you.

If you welcome a new feline friend into your family this month, we’d love to see them! Share a photo in the comments and tell us their adoption story. 🐾

From all of us at Desert Rose Animal Hospital, thank you for supporting pet adoption and helping cats find the loving homes they deserve. 🌵🐱

🦷 Dental disease is one of the most common health issues we see in pets — and it can start long before you notice bad breath. Plaque and tartar buildup can lead to painful infections, tooth loss, and even affect the heart, liver, and kidneys over time.

Routine dental cleanings allow us to thoroughly examine your pet’s mouth, clean below the gumline, and catch problems early before they become more serious (and more expensive).

Here’s Julissa carefully scaling teeth while Dr. Casida performs a full dental exam during a procedure. Dental care is truly a team effort, and keeping those pearly whites healthy helps pets live happier, healthier lives. 🐾✨

If your pet has bad breath, red gums, difficulty chewing, or it’s been a while since their last dental evaluation, give us a call to schedule an exam!

Meet ✨Journey✨ — one of Desert Rose Animal Hospital’s very first patients.

Journey was adopted from MCACC’s e-list after being diagnosed with Valley Fever and experiencing neurological issues. At the time, her future was uncertain… but her story is a beautiful reminder of what love, commitment, and medical care can do. ❤️

Today, Journey is THRIVING. She’s gained weight, her Valley Fever titers are improving, and she’s enjoying life more every day. With medications, routine monitoring, and a dedicated family by her side, she’s truly living her best life. 🐾

Valley Fever (also called coccidioidomycosis) is a fungal infection caused by spores found in Arizona desert soil. Dogs can become infected by breathing in dust containing the spores. Symptoms can range from coughing and lethargy to limping, weight loss, and in some cases, neurological signs if the infection spreads. While it can be serious, many pets can do very well with early diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.

Journey’s story is proof that a diagnosis is not always the end of the story. Sometimes it’s just the beginning of a new chapter. 💛

✨ Meet the Staff ✨

Thomas O’Malley — Kennel Tech 🐾

Thomas joined the team three weeks ago and has already mastered:
• Supervising the lobby
• Demanding attention from staff
• Walking around like he owns the hospital
• Looking adorable while doing absolutely no paperwork

We’re not sure who officially hired him, but Thomas O’Malley has quickly become an important part of the Desert Rose team. 🧡🐱
