Phoenix home sale time on market sees 2nd-biggest decrease in the U.S. - AZ Big Media In the Metro Phoenix housing industry, time on market dropped 14 days compared with 2023, good for the second-biggest drop in the nation.
One local economist does not expect to see Phoenix area housing prices take a dramatic fall anytime soon, even as the national housing market lost some steam in August. The average cost of a Maricopa County house in August was $410,000, almost $100,000 more than just one year ago. (KTAR.com)

Bankrate® Mortgage rates fell sharply this week as the coronavirus pandemic continues to slow all aspects of mortgages underwriting and homebuying.
Here’s how mortgage rates have changed this week 1 /7/20
Mortgage rates edged up slightly this week.
The benchmark 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rose this week to 3.84 percent from 3.81 percent, according to Bankrate’s weekly survey of large lenders. A year ago, it was 4.59 percent. Four weeks ago, the rate was 3.93 percent. The 30-year fixed-rate average for this week is 0.78 percentage points below the 52-week high of 4.62 percent, and is 0.10 percentage points greater than the 52-week low of 3.74 percent.
Over the past 52 weeks, the 30-year fixed has averaged 4.09 percent. This week’s rate is 0.25 percentage points lower than the 52-week average.
Here’s a snapshot of mortgage rates this week:
The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage was flat at 3.16 percent.
The 5/1 adjustable-rate mortgage rose to 3.60 percent from 3.50 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate jumbo mortgage was flat at 3.82 percent.
