According to Forbes, CNBC, and several other publications, up to 11.5 million people left their jobs in April, May, and June. 4 million more people quit in August alone!

At some Pointe workers will start job seeking again. Regardless of the job, a screening interview is going to happen over the phone (most likely), video-conferencing (less likely), or in-person (least likely). All of these interviews have a fatal flaw:

They require two or more strangers going into interactions cold, and everyone involved feels the effects of a potentially awkward meeting which can easily derail the relationship before it even starts!

Higher premiums are disproportionately applied to people of color with lower credit ratings or no credit history – even when they represent a lower risk on the road. I think many video conference interviews suffer from what I call “Strangeritis Maxitosis.” This condition is a largely ignored social phenomenon that occurs when
strangers meet and attempt to do important business before becoming familiar, and then
falsely attribute their mutual failure to the other party.
In other words, the most potent factor negatively affecting most strangers’ interactions is – wait for it…
