Check out these banded frog kicks for a 1-2 punch on hitting both glute max and med in one killer move.
4x10 with a 2sec hold at extension will do the trick. Several times per week for best results.

The breakdown can lead to the breakthrough.
I say this to my clients in training; as it’s usually a failed workout, a devastating setback, or a series of frustrations that can propel your mind and body to break through the obstacle once and for all.
But it’s true for other scenarios outside of training, too.
Don’t be afraid to leave the job. To end the relationship. To start over, to take the risk, to be brand new again…
Because sometimes the old system isn’t working and needs to actually end… even if it’s bittersweet and not all bad, I personally think too many people settle for mediocrity and lukewarm and decent when there’s far better in store for them if they’d just take the risk.
Stop forcing what isn’t working.
Trust yourself.
Let the old go.
Embrace the new and run at it full speed when you know the time is right.
You’ve risen to the challenge before, and you’re beyond capable of doing it again now.

A workout isn’t just a single workout.
It’s never been, for me, about burning calories or logging time or superficial means-to-the-end (although I do like being tan 😎).
This workout is a part of a larger program, and this workout’s progress will lay the foundation for more progress next week. This workout is one small step in the pursuit of something bigger. If I can do this workout, and make this gain, then I can make more gains next time… and continue to stack progress over time.
It’s about confidence in yourself. It’s about believing in yourself. It’s about taking care of yourself and giving yourself what you need, to be your best for everything and everyone else in your life.
It’s about challenging yourself to not only keep showing up and doing it, but to get outside your comfort zone and dream of more and strive for big goals and to PROVE to yourself that you can do this. It’s about continuously (daily) making deposits in your confidence bank account, that you trust yourself to follow through and hit the mark at the end of the day and to believe in your capability under pressure.
It’s a moving meditation, it’s a chance to clear your head on all the other sh*t happening in your life. It’s a chance to think, or to not think if that’s what you need.
It’s an opportunity to visualize other challenges in your life, and channel your success with this fitness task, toward your success in that other task.
It’s not casual. It’s not “well, maybe I’ll find time.” It’s not a “have to”, it’s often a “want to” or a deeper internal genuine “need to”.
It’s a way of life, it’s the undercurrent to every day and every week and every training cycle. It’s always having a heading on your compass of where you’re going, because that structure with fitness gives you structure with your life.
So… it’s not just about today’s run. It’s so much more. It’s a part of me, it’s a priority for me, it’s my lifestyle, it’s a highlight for me most days, it’s a chance to test myself, it’s a chance to prove that I can do this and if I work hard/smart enough, I have the power to do anything.
If you see fitness as something deeper… your results will come much more naturally. 🪄

VERY uncomfortable truth coming at you:
It’s not that you don’t have the time. It’s that you’re not making the time.
This post is not meant to shame anyone, or start WW3 about people’s schedules. It’s more of a tough love push from your favorite trainer saying, if it was important to you, you’d figure it out, and you need to prioritize your health/fitness/self-care period end of story.
I’ve trained working moms who do their daily push-ups next to sleeping, playing kids and babies. The workouts aren’t pretty or even complete all the time but it’s better than nothing.
I’ve trained busy CEO’s who squeeze in a 30min run over lunch and 4am quick lifts in crappy hotel gyms. They don’t have time for anything fancy but they know they need to keep their physical fitness sharp to keep their mind sharp.
I’ve trained nightshift workers, flight attendants, and surgeons with impossible schedules that still prep their food and rarely miss workouts. Their schedules are hard on them enough, but they know good food and workouts lessen the damage the long hours cause.
I’ve also trained single, 9-5 predictable job, no kids, clients who can’t figure out how to do 1hr of self care by way of workouts per week, and are still driving through fast food 2x/day and surviving off energy drinks and booze/weed.
Some people are MAKING IT WORK, and some people could make it work but choose not to.
If you want it? MAKE. It. Happen.
Get up 20min earlier.
Do micro workouts 4x8 push-ups daily.
Make better food choices.
Get off your phone and get to sleep earlier.
Book your coach or trainer to hold you accountable to yourself.
It’s not pretty, and it’s rarely easy, and it will take more planning on your part, but it is 1000% worth it and something is better than nothing.
Get real with yourself, get brutally honest, and START. TODAY. Get it in, get something done, get at least some points on the board - want to or not!

I love therapy. Don’t get me wrong.
I love meditation apps and salt baths and long walks on the beach too.
But have you ever tried running your f*cking brainz out in 100* hill sprints?
Works wonders. Highly recommend.

We’ve got people flying in, driving in, and asking lots of questions for the upcoming Cactus to Clouds hike.
Ready for your next EPIC adventure?
Hike details:
-Difficulty: Experienced hikers only. This will be challenging. Ideally you've done the Grand Canyon at least Rim to River.
-Elevation and mileage: 10,700 ft ascent over 21mi; and then you catch a tram down. So, this hike is almost all UP, very little down.
-Estimated time: This could take 12-15hr depending on speed.
-Dates: we'll drive over on Thursday night 10/5, start very early (4am latest) on Friday 10/6, stay in Palm Springs Friday, drive back to Phoenix on Saturday, 10/7.

Feeling stuck in your lifting routine?
[save] this post for later!
The options are truly infinite with what you can be working on, and these examples are just to name a few.
I am here to tell you: 📣
You cannot stay in maintenance forever.
You will lose interest in it.
And you will start to cut corners and miss sessions.
And you’ll lose progress and feel like a turd 💩 about it.
I am a believer in repetition; but not the exact same thing in the exact same way forever until the day you die.
Make small changes to your split, the reps, the rest, the exercises within the key movement patterns, how your cardio and diet are shaping your look, using new devices, making the surface unstable, doing it for time, etc.
Pick a goal. Do it for a block. Improve at it. Then switch it up!
And of course, working with your coach or trainer will help to add more specificity of programming and results.
