I’m running for Outreach Director to help expand SHPE’s mission of inspiring the next generation in STEM. Through my time with SHPE UA, I’ve led and supported outreach initiatives reaching hundreds of students, including a 200+ student drone egg drop workshop in collaboration with Honeywell.

I’ve worked with schools, sponsors, and volunteers to bring these events to life. Now, I want to take a more direct role in building and leading them.

My goal is to grow SHPE Phoenix’s outreach by reaching more schools, strengthening partnerships both current and new, and creating more hands-on experiences that spark real excitement in students, just like what we saw at Noche de Ciencias last year.

I want every student we reach to feel inspired, capable, and excited about their future in STEM.

Statement from candidate:
I am running for Treasurer of SHPE Phoenix to support the organization that supported me when I first moved here. As a web developer with a background in psychology and professional experience as a coach and teacher, I bring strong communication skills, adaptability, and a big-picture mindset to everything I do. In the 6 years since starting my job at Accenture, I’ve grown from an apprentice to an associate manager by consistently learning, leading, and building trust.

Growing up, money was tight and financial education was non-existent, so I developed practical, hands-on experience with budgeting, managing credit, and planning for long-term financial stability. I understand the importance of responsible financial stewardship and clear communication, and I’m committed to helping SHPE Phoenix manage and grow its resources effectively while supporting its mission.
