We all share an underlying feeling of longing to belong. Even belong to myself! To be comfortable in my skin or whatever you want to call it. How do I begin to be at peace within myself? Today we will talk about the embodiment of belonging in the spiritual life. The essence to experiencing oneness with the divine, and with myself.

When our natural gifts (I.e., giver, organizer, comic, romantic, communicator, mediator, etc.) that are beautiful, become obsessions of doing and feeling for controlling what we desire. Check out this quote from Geneen Roth,

"If we believe that we don't deserve and therefore cannot give appreciation, respect, and tenderness to ourselves, then we will humiliate ourselves in the process. We give for the purpose of receiving. We do things for the effect they will have. We try to manipulate or connive or control others into giving to us whatever we believe we cannot give ourselves."
