Our Vision: To see Latin America transformed by the power of the Gospel and living by the principles VELA's Ministry Pillars
1.
STRATEGIC RESEARCH: We prepare the way for church growth by working with church planting teams and church strategists to identify the status of the Church in every city and nation we work in looking specifically for people groups and areas with little or no evangelical presence. We then provide this strategic information as books and/or electronic data and provide training seminars so that this research can be used effectively.
2. LEADERSHIP TRAINING: Through our Training Center we provide training on Biblical Principles and Models to equip national workers to become effective and faithful servants. We encourage and train leaders in: Evangelism, Church Planting, World Missions, Christian Counseling and Christian Leadership.
3. EVANGELISM: We motivate, train and mobilize believers to evangelize in their communities, their cities and their nations.
4. PARTNERSHIP PROJECTS: We connect churches and organizations in the USA and Canada to legitimate ministry needs in Latin America. We also are serving to assists other organizations with the Great Commission by accomplishing joint evangelistic projects.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Luis Palau, but thankful for his life and ministry which had a huge impact on our personal lives, on all of Latin America and around the world. We will remember him as a man who walked with God and was passionate about sharing the Gospel. On his knees he prayed for the lost and every day he worked hard, he became a close friend and a mentor. Luis is now enjoying the very presence of His Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Thank you God for his life and ministry, a great example to follow!

It has been exciting to see the prayer movement Women Praying for the Nation continuing to grow. The women who are a part of this group are truly passionate about lifting the National Plan of Evangelism up to God and placing it in his hands. Please join us in praying for this month's 3 States and key prayer requests.

We recognize that the key to our National Plan of Evangelism is prayer. We have developed a prayer movement called Women Praying for the Nation through which representatives of each State are working hard towards the goal of having 1 million women praying for Mexico. This year these women are focusing on praying for 3 States each month as we cover the whole nation in prayer. Would you join us in praying for January's request?

With heavy hearts but trusting in God's sovereign plans we say goodbye to our dear brother in Christ David Arellanes who went to be with the Lord yesterday. A true servant heart, he worked knowing he was not working for man but for his Savior. He will be missed deeply. Please pray for his family!
