Took my locs out in January. I had them in for about four months. Do I regret getting them? Absolutely not! For me, it was the right decision at the time. After a few months tho, I started to realize that I missed my unlocc’d hair. So it turned out, that this hair decision wasn’t going to be as permanent as I originally planned. But it was a beautiful time of rest and growth for my hair!! 🖤🖤 it was needed at the time…..which makes me think of other life plans- a lot of times they are not as permanent as we originally planned, but they served a purpose anyway. And they were meant to be. For the time being…🖤🖤

I don’t have a lot of answers to life’s biggest questions. But one thing I know to be true is that….love is God and God is love. I feel this love when I create something beautiful, I feel this love after a therapy session that I know is going to change my client’s life. I feel this love when I’m comforted by a friend or a loved one after a hard day….I feel this love when I sing.

Life is not about having questions answered as much as it is about experiencing love. I hope you allow yourself to settle into the questions and experience life for yourself

I did this photoshoot literally the DAY before I got my locs put in. And I did that on purpose. As a celebration. As a way to remember this stage of my life, as I invite the next chapter in. (My hair has always been my thing lol).

I think sometimes “letting go” looks like allowing yourself to think differently. It’s about being real with yourself and who you really are. It could mean letting go of past beliefs, relationships, or behaviors. It could mean allowing yourself to ask some really difficult questions……But what if that’s ok? And what if that’s exactly what you need to get to the next stage in life? I mean, what if you (or your hair lol) can’t grow without it?

Hey all!!! I’m too excited to announce that my therapy practice, Lenity Art and Wellness, has openings and is now accepting NEW CLIENTS to begin on November 1st. We have a new office space opening up in the Phoenix area, and we will be able to offer in-person therapy services. Ebonie, who works for me, will be accepting clients who’d like to use insurance (United Healthcare or Aetna). We also accept HSA funds.

Loc Journey Day #1. I decided to go with microloc twists (not sisterlocks). I’m excited to see how they begin to form, since everyone’s loc journey is so different. And although this is gonna sound totally cliche….it really does feel like my life is going through a shift, a positive change, and my hair is just a reflection of this. My brother told me that every black therapist eventually gets loc’d up lol. And sp here I am joining the crowd.
