Happy 4th, everyone. Today we’re celebrating with Little Edie, dancing with her flag, entirely herself, unbothered by anyone’s expectations of what patriotism should look like. Maybe that’s the real spirit worth holding onto. So, show up as who you are, and what you are, and take care of each other out there.

Today, the Desert Stages Theatre family lost a beloved member.

For many years, Michael Lev was a constant presence at Desert Stages. A familiar face, a warm smile, and a genuine friend to so many. Whether you knew him for years or were simply welcomed by him when attending a performance, Michael made you feel at home.

His love for this community touched so many, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts are with Michael’s family, friends, and everyone whose life was enriched by his presence.

We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of our longtime friend Michael Lev. From stage management to Box Office staff, Michael fiercely supported DST and we will be forever grateful for the impact he made on us all.

In his memory, donations in Michael’s memory can be sent to a cancer or AIDS treatment or research center of your choice. ❤️
