Check for a Lump

It is important for women to get their screening mammograms. With cost of the screening and barriers to access, it can be very challenging to accomplish. That’s where we come in! We bring mobile mammograms into our community with the help of grants and donors like BHHS Legacy Foundation.

The need is greater than we can cover though. If you are interested in supporting our mission, please reach out to us. We are always in need of more supporters.

To help remove barriers like cost, transportation, access, and fear, the non-profit Check for a Lump is working to bring mammograms directly to women in the community.

What an incredible night where celebration, glamour, purpose, and community came together. You showed us how much the community cares for those affected by breast cancer by supporting us and our programs. We are incredibly thankful for all those who were in attendance and those who donated online that weren't able to attend. Every dollar raised has a real impact here at Check for a Lump. You opened hearts, and wallets, so that no one should face breast cancer alone, raising $78,000!

Did you hear that our Executive Director Ashley Plum was named a 2026 American Cancer Society Game Changer?! Hear from Ashley:

Wow! What an incredible night!!! I still can’t believe I was named as a 2026 ACS Game Changer. It’s unreal and a huge honor. My work at Check for a Lump hasn’t gone unnoticed and I’m beyond grateful for the nomination from Linda Nau Greer and recognition from the American Cancer Society.

I was lucky to have my family there along with some very dear friends.

To everyone there and not there who have been and will continue to support me, I truly appreciate you and your support and kindness! There just aren’t enough words to explain how much I appreciate all of this!
