Signing day for my friends who have been snowbirds here for the past five years. Selling their Ocotillo condo to spend more time with the grandkids as they grow. This is something we see often with our clients-a change of season that involves a shift in real estate.

Ever since I was a child I’ve been an animal lover, rescuing dogs (and a horse or two along the way) since my early 20s. In our home we take in elderly or sick dogs others have thrown away. I’ve served on several shelter and rescue boards over my years and will always be dedicated to rescue, but recently I was introduced to another non-profit that serves our canines, Spikes K9 Fund.

Spikes K9 Fund is dedicated to protecting our Nations working dogs. Veteran-founded and operated, they provide essential, life-saving equipment—like custom-fit ballistic vests, vehicle heat alarms, goggles, ear protection and trauma kits—to help keep canine officers safe while serving alongside their human partners. They also fund critical medical care, ensuring these brave dogs can return to duty or enjoy a healthy retirement after years of service.

With every real estate closing I’m proud to donate a minimum of $200 to Spike’s K9 Fund. Every day our canine heroes face possibly putting their lives on the line, they deserve the same protection as those they serve beside.
