🎩 3/25 - 3/28 🎩

We stayed at Double J Campground just south of Springfield, IL for 3️⃣ nights. It was a nice place with a basketball court, chess, hiking trail, and playground.

Springfield, IL is where Abraham Lincoln lived until he became President. We toured his home. The tour was a little crowded and quick but it was neat to see where he lived and they even had some original furniture. There are a few other houses nearby that you can go in learn about the people who lived in the neighborhood. The visitor center also had two good films about Lincoln's time in Springfield.

Christy and the kids visited the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, and really enjoyed them! The museum was awesome. It had a couple really good shows and did a great job of walking us through Lincoln's life. Our stop at the library was short, but filled with lots of great information.

We also visited Lincoln's Tomb at Oak Ridge Cemetery. It was impressive to see.

There are a lot more things to see and do in Springfield, but that was all we had time for this time.

We stayed 2️⃣ nights at the Springfield Route 66 KOA. On our way here, we stopped at George Washington Carver National Monument. We learned about the impact he made on early agriculture. He attended Simpson College and Iowa State!

Christy and the kids got to go to the Discovery Center again and had lots of fun. We had a great dinner and game night with family before heading to our next Springfield stop... Illinois!

🍦🚲 3/17 - 3/23 🚲🍦

We visited Grandma and Poppy and Aunt Nikki and family in Oklahoma. We hit up Braum's for some ice cream of course. We rode our bikes around Lake Hefner. We also went downtown to see the tulips blooming at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. Next door was Scissortail Park and it had a fun playground for the kids. The kids got some fishing in at Mitch Park and Arcadia Lake. No fish caught, but they had fun!

We stayed 3️⃣ nights at Bar "S" RV Park. It's named that because it's just down the road from the prison. A little concerning, but we were fine.

We chose this location for its proximity to 3️⃣ National Parks.

We visited El Malpais National Monument. This was where lava flow from an over 3,000 year old volcano. We hiked the lava falls trail and big tubes. It's amazing to see what the lava has done to the landscape.

We also went to El Morro National Monument. This site is protecting inscriptions that were carved in the sandstone rock from travelers passing through centuries ago. There are also pueblo remains on top of the cuesta. The hike was fun and there were so many purple prickly pear cactus.

The last park we visited was Petroglyph National Monument in Albuquerque. There are over 20,000 petroglyphs protected by this park.

We stayed 3️⃣ weeks at Encore Pilot K**b. Located about 1️⃣0️⃣ miles west of Yuma, AZ.

We had a nice spot and decorated our home for Christmas. We visited the Imperial Sand Dunes twice. We all had fun sliding and playing in the sand, Leo too!

Randy and Marcia came from Sun City to visit and we toured the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park. We also went to Los Algodones, Mexico for a quick visit.

We really enjoyed Yuma and the weather was just perfect!

We've been on the road for 3️⃣ years!

Man, does that feel crazy to say. We feel incredibly grateful for this life, and really try to enjoy every moment! We've certainly had our ups and downs along the way, but we still stand by this is the best decision we've ever made.

Thank you for following along on our journey! Cheers to the next year of adventures!
