Something isn’t adding up in Apache County, Arizona, and we need your help I’m Loren Marshall, the Chair of the Apache County Democrats in rural Northeastern Arizona, and I need to tell you what we’re seeing on the ground, because it should concern anyone who cares about voter access and fair elections. Today in Window Rock, we had a strong day of connection. We recruited new Precinct Committee members, had some really thoughtful conversations, and saw great engagement from folks who are ready to step up and get involved. People asked important questions, shared their perspectives, and showed real interest in building stronger communities through civic action.
Even more encouraging some of our new volunteers are already planning to show up in their own communities this Saturday for a National No Kings Day Protest. That kind of energy and commitment is exactly what this work is about. We’re building momentum, and it’s only growing. If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, now is the time.

This weekend, Apache County Democrats, in partnership with Arizona Native Democrats, hosted a successful Precinct Committee (PC) Recruitment Cookout at Wheatfield Lake.
We spent the day sharing meaningful conversations and important voter and election information. We had the opportunity to recruit new precinct committee persons, connect with volunteers ready to get involved, and meet inspiring community activists, advocates, and leaders who are excited to engage more deeply with our county party.
What stood out most were the one-on-one conversations. People showed up with thoughtful questions, a desire to learn, and a genuine interest in making a difference. It was powerful to meet folks where they are and to hear directly from community members about what matters to them.
We’re grateful for everyone who came out, spent time with us, and helped make this event so meaningful.

Yesterday we wrapped up our Petition Signature Slam in Window Rock, and it was a great afternoon connecting with community members.
Several Apache County candidates joined us to collect petition signatures as they work toward qualifying for the 2026 ballot. We also helped gather signatures for other candidates in local, state and federal races.
Beyond petition signatures, the best part of the day was the conversations. Community members stopped by to ask questions, share ideas, and talk about how they can get involved.
One thing we always remind people: the more local the office, the more it directly affects your daily life. Local leaders understand the issues in our communities and help shape the decisions that impact us the most. We were so grateful they joined us this weekend and helped educate community members about local races.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, signed petitions, asked questions, and spent time with us. We appreciate the strong community support and look forward to continuing these conversations across Apache County.
